He couldn't create a life on earth giving everyone freewill unless He makes it full of suffering as well. So life in heaven has to be like one of the undermentioned:
- Devoid of all free will, i.e. we will all be robots or automatons. We will have even lesser freedom than Sonny in I, Robot. (Sonny killed the professor, remember?)
- Only perfect people will enter heaven. Which means you won't make it.
- Heaven is just like earth, full of suffering. On top of that, it would be overflowing with hypocrites.
- No sin would be possible; are you still sure you want to go to heaven?
- You will lose your entire personality and be transformed into an entirely new being. No you won't get to choose, it will be one size fits all. Actually, it would be no different from just creating a whole new being. Any objections? Not that they will be noted.

I hadn't thought of the freewill angle. I must admit, when I was a believer, heaven always sounded slightly boring. You have convinced me - definitely don't want to go there :-)
Yeah, I think that subconsciously I knew it was not really a place I wanted to be, so I didn't think much about it. I couldn't really comprehend those who actually wondered what they would be doing in heaven. I only dare to think about it now that I'm an atheist and know for sure that it's a place I will definitely not land up in.
Freewill is precious.
Well, they say you get a new body -- that may be the trick. 'Cause this body makes me do all sorts of bad things ! Smile
Ah, Sabio, that must be the answer! I still think I would kinda prefer the present one. I can't think why.
